These Terms of Service apply to Lil’ Crowns services provided by Nice Locs.
Lil’ Crowns services are designed specifically for children and minors, with a focus on scalp health, comfort, age-appropriate styling, and long-term hair care.

Eligibility & Service Scope

• Lil’ Crowns services are available only to children and minors.

• Service eligibility is based on:

  • Age

  • Hair texture and density

  • Scalp health

  • The child’s ability to tolerate the service

• Certain styles or services may be modified or declined if they are not appropriate for the child’s hair or age.

Nice Locs reserves the right to adjust or decline services to protect the child’s safety, comfort, and hair health.

Parent / Guardian Consent & On-Site Presence (Required)

• A parent or legal guardian must be on site at all times during the Lil’ Crowns appointment.

• If not physically inside the salon suite, the parent or guardian must remain in the immediate hallway area.

• Parents or guardians may not leave the premises while the child is being serviced.

• Only one accompanying adult is permitted unless otherwise approved.

Lil’ Crowns services will not begin or will be paused immediately if a parent or guardian is not present on site.

Consultations

• Some Lil’ Crowns services may require a consultation prior to booking.

• Consultations are used to assess:

  • Hair readiness

  • Scalp sensitivity

  • Style suitability

  • Maintenance expectations

• Consultations do not include shampooing or styling unless explicitly stated.

Hair Preparation, Shampoo & Buildup Policy

• All Lil’ Crowns services include a professional shampoo performed by Nice Locs, unless otherwise stated.

• Parents or guardians should not shampoo the child’s hair prior to the appointment unless explicitly approved.

• Hair must be fully taken down from any previous style before arrival.

Matting, Buildup & Upcharges

• If hair presents with:

  • Excessive matting

  • Heavy product buildup

  • Debris or residue requiring additional work

An upcharge will apply based on the time and labor required to safely prepare the hair.

Important Disclosure

Improper or rushed removal of buildup and matting can:

• Weaken the hair

• Affect scalp health

• Cause issues later in the style’s lifespan (including slippage, breakage, or discomfort)

For this reason, Nice Locs prioritizes thorough and safe preparation.
Clients who decline recommended prep adjustments accept responsibility for any future issues related to improper preparation.

Appointments may be modified, delayed, or rescheduled if hair is not properly prepared.

Comfort, Tension & Child Readiness

• Services are performed using minimal tension and child-appropriate techniques.

• If a child:

  • Experiences significant discomfort

  • Becomes distressed

  • Is unable to sit safely for the service

The service may be modified, paused, or discontinued.

The child’s comfort and well-being always take priority over completing a style.

Style Selection & Expectations

• Styles are selected based on:

  • Age

  • Hair texture and density

  • Scalp sensitivity

  • Lifestyle and maintenance ability

• Inspiration photos are used as reference only and are not guaranteed replicas.

• Some styles may be simplified or adjusted to remain protective and age-appropriate.

Loc Services for Lil’ Crowns

• Starter locs and loc maintenance for children are offered only when appropriate.

• Loc size, method, and maintenance schedules are determined based on:

  • Hair qualification

  • Scalp health

  • Long-term growth considerations

Not all loc styles suitable for adults are appropriate for children.

Maintenance & Aftercare Responsibility

• Parents or guardians are responsible for:

  • Following aftercare instructions

  • Maintaining recommended appointment intervals

  • Avoiding excessive manipulation or tension

Failure to follow aftercare guidance may result in:

• Breakage

• Slippage

• Style failure

These outcomes are not considered service errors.

Time, Breaks & Service Completion

• Lil’ Crowns services may require:

  • Breaks

  • Extra time for comfort

  • Adjustments based on the child’s needs

Completion of the service is not guaranteed if the child is unable to tolerate the full appointment.

Late, Cancellation & No-Show Policy

• A 15-minute grace period applies.

• Late arrivals may result in:

  • Service modification

  • Shortened appointment

  • Appointment cancellation

• Same-day cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

Payments & Refunds

• All Lil’ Crowns services are non-refundable.

• Time, preparation, and labor are reserved specifically for each child.

• Incomplete services due to discomfort, behavior, or early termination are not eligible for refunds.

Parent / Guardian Agreement

By booking a Lil’ Crowns service with Nice Locs, the parent or guardian confirms that they:

• Will remain on site for the entire appointment

• Understand that matting or buildup may result in additional charges

• Acknowledge that improper preparation can cause future issues

• Accept that services may be modified or stopped for the child’s comfort

• Agree to follow aftercare guidance

• Understand services are non-refundable
